Activity For Life

What is activity for life? In America, we get all kinds of crazy ideas that we think make sense. Heck, I learned much of history from The Flintstones.

When considering the best type of activity for overall health, do not overlook walking in the woods. We need relaxation, oxygen, appreciation of animals and the Earth, and separation from technology and other people.

I am not saying to avoid lifting weights, team sports, or especially great and healthy activities such as bicycling and swimming. I am just saying we need to prioritize nature walks, especially as we age.

A twenty minute walk in the woods, at medium pace, with a bit of stretching, and perhaps a two minute lie-down on pine needles, and some prayer, affirmations or meditation, can really be a health-affirming habit.
