My Spring Fling

With the change in seasons, we all have different needs and cravings.

Some of us have excellent discipline, and others are completely ignorant of what’s going on. with the change in season, we all have different needs and cravings. Some of us have excellent discipline, and others are completely ignorant of what’s going on. to do the right thing.

I am somewhere in the middle, I know what I need, but sometimes I either get depressed and give up, or get too high and want to party. I guess it’s my bipolar nature, undiagnosed, of course. I am somewhere in the middle, I know what I need, but sometimes I either get depressed and give up, or get too high and want to party. I guess it’s my bipolar nature, undiagnosed, of course.

Anyway, instead of largely abstaining from animal food, with an occasional bite of cheese or bacon or fish, I had six animal food experiences over the last ten days. Here’s what I experienced:

  • Constipation
  • Stiffness and Inflexibility
  • More Aggressive, Insensitive
  • Skin Breakouts
  • Foot/Back/Knee Pain
  • Weight Gain
  • Insatiable Sugar Cravings
  • Increased Sex Drive
  • Farting, BO, Smelly BM
  • Craving More Animal Food
  • Gray Hair

Yesterday I also got a headache and sore throat. That was the final straw. So now I will be 100% vegan for a week or two, which is easy for me, I enjoy it, saves me money, and is more compatible with my wife (if not the world).

all my symptoms will disappear soon, and I will ride this high through late summer.

7 Signs You’re in Denial About Eating Animals

1. You think animals raised for meat are treated well. The vast majority of farmed animals are subjected to extreme confinement, mutilations without painkillers, and ruthless slaughter. Their short lives are filled with misery and deprivation.

2. You think eating meat is necessary. No one needs to eat animal products to survive; it’s quite the opposite. In fact, there are tremendous benefits to ditching animal products for our health and the environment. Right now millions of people are thriving on a delicious and humane plant-based diet.

3. You think eating meat is “natural”. We don’t have claws and large canine teeth to catch prey. And we don’t have digestive tracts built to optimally absorb nutrients and discard toxins from animal flesh. We do, however, have a physiology friendly to plant eating, and science clearly shows many health advantages to sticking to what nature grows: plants.

4. You think you can love animals AND eat them. But if we truly believe that it’s wrong to hurt animals, we must accept that there is absolutely no humane way to kill animals who do not want to die.

5. You think that plants have feelings too. Seriously? Plants have no brain or central nervous system, which means they can’t feel anything. It takes a reported 16 pounds of grain to produce just one pound of beef, so if you’re really concerned about plants, you should be avoiding meat anyway.

6. You only buy “humane meat. All animals raised for meat will face the same violent and unnecessary death. You may see “cage-free, “free-range, and other so-called humane labels on meat, dairy, and eggs, but don’t buy the hype.

7. You would never hurt your dog. For many of us, our dogs and cats are family members, and we make it a priority to ensure their happiness. And in the ways that matter most, farmed animals and our cats and dogs are the same. They all have unique personalities, experience joy, and feel pain.

Will Tuttle

I have known Will Tuttle for 20 years, and worked with him briefly after he published his best selling book, The World Peace Diet. Dr. Tuttle is destined to be very famous if we survive the true crisis, which he touches on below.

I would appreciate it if you would read it. It is my strong belief that if we read and change our leaders and our consumption habits, we all can live a happier, healthier life on a more peaceful and life-sustaining planet.
It is not about holding hands and singing Kumbaya, it is about saving the land, water, air, bees, coral reefs, fish, and lowering cancer and heart disease and suicide by 75%.

Thank you!!

What Supplements Do You Need?

My feeling is that most of our health should come from our food, so I eat an organic, local, fresh, balanced plant based diet. Most of the time! But we all get into ruts, and are exposed to dangers, so supplements can help.

Everyone is different! We also go through changes in life, so the supplements we need change as we age, and as our activities, conditions, etc. change.

I am a healthy 57 year old man, but my challenges are my liver and my lungs. I don’t have a problem with colds and flu, or allergies. So I take liver support drops (milk thistle) in my lemon water every morning, along with a general anti-inflammatory (Zyflammend), and Vitamins B-12 and D, for mood support and immunity.

If I am feeling challenged, I may take mullein leaf, vitamin C, or other potent remedies.

Whole foods has a good supply of these supplements, and the help there might know something. I am happy to have a conversation with you, but I am not a doctor or even a nutritionist.

The Key to a Great Life

We live in strange times.

While a few make billions selling technology or lending escapism to the masses, most of us burn the candle at both ends to pay the bills.

Meanwhile, animals and the environment suffer, and we age rapidly and suffer. What can we do?

My key to a great life is to recognize the pitfalls of the capitalist world, and to try to live as naturally as I can.

We grow up trusting our parents, then our institutions, so it takes experience, and yes, a lot of suffering to commit to change.

It’s great to see people like Abby R. of Framingham who see the truth early, follow their passions without fear, and create a better life and a better Earth.

What can you do right now, today, to get on a path to a better life? Here are some ideas:

Eliminate fast food

-Go plant based

-Take a daily nature walk

-Do self massage, affirmations, daily body rubs,

-Spend less time in front of a screen

Take up art, origami, sailing, ping pong, poetry

-Improve your relationships

Healing In a Crazy World

2020 was a crazy year, and the insanity is waning very slowly. Sure, we do not get pandemics more than every 100 years, but the problems we are experiencing in climate change, mental and physical illness, violence and political unrest, inequity and economic problems, and government taking away our freedom of speech are unprecedented.

What should we do with that stress?

For one thing, we need to stop watching the news. While it is impressive that we can find out what is happening from moment to moment, all over the world, we cannot handle it. So shut off the TV, and turn off notifications on your smartphone.

Healing

Next, spend more time cooking healthy meals. Start with a pot of brown rice, which is naturally gluten-free, cheaper than pasta, and can be made 1000 ways, and leftovers easily repurposed. Add some beans or tofu/tempeh, a cooked vegetable (winter squash, carrots, onions, turnip and broccoli come to mind), and maybe add a nice salad (careful on the dressing, not to overload on salt and sugar and oil).

In addition to eating well, every day, we all need to go outside into nature daily. A morning walk in the woods can get us in the right frame of mind, give us vitamin D (helps to avoid Covid!), and of course stimulates our appetite and our lymph flushing out toxins. Having more plants in our homes is good insurance for a busy or a cold day!

sleep

Finally, bodycare is really important. I do stretching, affirmations, body rubs, shower, situps and pushups, and self massage EVERY DAY. I also do a nasal irrigation, and take vitamin B12, vitamins A, C and E, and Zyflamend, just to name a few.

I still get stingers and aches if I do the wrong thing (like drive ten hours to and from New Jersey on consecutive days, then lift golf clubs at the airport), but I know how to handle these moments. With CBD, Arnica, Turmeric and other great products. And by resting at night!

Inflammation, Inflammation, Inflammation

Our understanding of Health is advanced in many ways, but it is also lacking in some aspects.

It Starts at the Top

It is very sad that corporations and I FDA conspire against consumers to keep them unhealthy, so many many billions of dollars can be spent on medical tests, drugs, and procedures.

The most important thing for consumers to understand is that most diseases come from inflammation. Perhaps 75% of headaches, backaches, heart disease, auto immune disorders, and muscular skeletal Issues result from us eating a hyper-inflammatory diet.

Avoid Nightshades, Animal Foods

Inflammatory foods include:

Pepper, eggplant, tomato, potato, yeast, white flour, milk, beef, pork, chicken, and hydrogenated, rancid and GMO oils, corn and soy, vinegar, msg, plus chemicals such as pesticides, food colorings, flavorings and preservatives.

The next time you go to the supermarket, see if you can avoid buying any of those foods. I bet you cannot.

Unfortunately, the doctor can only is the pain, he cannot cure inflammation or the havoc it reeks in your body. If you are having multiple issues, and you eat foods like this, particularly from restaurants, processed and conventionally grown produce, you might consider doing a one week fast.

Change Your Life in One Week

Eat much less, and chew much more. No meat, dairy, sugar, fruit or alcohol. Eat only short grain brown rice, water, miso soup, and my Healing Veg Tea. Three days to notice a difference in your skin, mood, eyes, elimination. Five days to get to real healing. Seven days to lose weight and feel empty, light, and alive.

Avoid too much vigorous exercise or stressful work in this time. You can certainly take plenty of nature walks and do hatha yoga, stretching and meditation.

Let me know if you need any assistance. Make sure you get plenty of clean water, sleep, time in nature, and less stress in the form of arguments, media, and work.

Vaccine or No Vaccine?

Vaccine
Pfizer and investors made billions so far

Should you get the new Covid vaccine? Obviously a more difficult decision than the flu shot. I guess it starts with your age, your general health condition, and your trust of government on such matters.

Personally I have never had a flu vaccine. I did get the flu last January (not Covid, tested positive for influenza B, no lost taste or smell, few classical symptoms), and feel the flu shot is largely ineffective and can be highly dangerous. People die from flu shots, and people die from the flu, so it must be a personal choice.

My age is 56, and I am in good health, with good health intuition. I also don’t trust the government at all. Will I live to regret not getting the shot? I’m not sure. But we all get to decide, for now. It is important to realize three things:

  • The vaccine is very new, and was rushed to market
  • There will be side effects; here is what the CDC says
  • The shot has unknown length of immunity
  • Vaccines are not designed to prevent CV; but merely to reduce severity

It is great that people are getting the shot. People will be able to leave the house with peace of mind, and it may indeed save lives. It will certainly help open up the economy, at long last. If you need information, here is a well done site to help you decide which one to get, if any. It happens to be from Texas, where the Feds have less say.

They say we will still need to be wearing masks forever, and to social distance, forever, and we will always be scared of the next big thing, whether it come from a wet market, laboratory, or lax immigration and travel policies. That is a bummer!

Certainly, if you are in healthcare, or older, or immune-compromised, and the vaccine is available free, it is hard to resist. Hurray for Operation Warp Speed!
