Coronavirus Tips

Stanford Notes on Coronavirus The new Coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days. How can you know if you are infected?  By the time you have fever and/or cough and go to the hospital, the lung is usually 50% fibrosis.

Taiwan experts provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning:  Take a deep breath and hold it for more than 10 seconds. If you do this successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stiffness or tightness, there is no fibrosis in the lungs; it basically indicates no infection. In critical times, please self-check every morning in an environment with clean air.

Serious excellent advice by Japanese doctors treating COVID-19 cases: Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat are moist, never dry. Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes at least. Why?  Even if the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other liquids will wash them down through your throat and into the stomach. Once there, your stomach acid will kill all the virus. If you don’t drink enough water regularly, the virus can enter your windpipe and then the lungs. That’s very dangerous. Please send and share this with family and friends. Take care everyone and may the world recover from this Coronavirus soon.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – CORONAVIRUS:

1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold. 2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.   3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 degrees C.  (About 77 degrees F.)  It hates the Sun.   4. If someone sneezes with it, it goes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne.   5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours – so if you come into contact with any metal surface, wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap.

6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. normal laundry detergent will kill it.   7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice.   8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but – a lot can happen during that time – you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on.   9. You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice.   10. Can’t emphasis enough – drink plenty of water!

THE SYMPTOMS: 1. It will first infect the throat, so you’ll have a sore throat lasting 3/4 days   2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5/6 days further.   3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing.   4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you’re drowning. It’s imperative you then seek immediate attention.

Healing Is Not Fun

Recently, I decided to go super Macrobiotic for three days, and at the end of those three days, I got Influenza B with double vision for almost a week!

I had never had the flu (that I can recall, had just about everything else, from Shingles to bacterial meningitis), and I don’t believe in shots, so no I was not vaccinated. A bunch of people have scolded me, but I’m not easily swayed towards the health mob.

Anyway, it’s hard to heal, but I worked at it, and everything is back to normal. Fluids, rest, lots of natural remedies, eating less and macrobiotic, and going to the chiropractor all helped immensely.

Now I can help others!!

New Decade, Same Dream

My dream for America in 2020 and beyond is that collectively, and individually, we value quality vs. quantity, nature vs. technology, gratefulness vs. complaint, and love vs. hate.

If we do that, I have no doubt that we can reverse the environmental, social and health problems currently causing worry, cost and suffering.

A plant-based diet and lifestyle is a good start. Not only does it get the body in tune with the above goals, but it also sets the mind up with clarity and peace.

Happy new year to all!

Don’t Mess With Success

I have studied from the Macrobiotic masters, such as Michio & Aveline Kushi, George Oshawa, Denny Waxman, Warren Kramer and the like for more than 30 years.

Great ideas in 1970. Many hold true today. But the world does change. For instance, we can no longer rely on all areas of Japan as excellent food sources since Fukishima.

Also, with GMOs, pesticides, sugar and sodium being loaded into foods at an all-time high, we need to question all recipes and be careful.

There has been an explosion of autism, and many neurological and immune disorders lately, and these require special consideration.

Finally, new ideas come into play. Some healers and authors such as Mark Mincolla have come into vogue, and their ideas run counter to Macrobiotics in terms of fermented foods, nuts, corn and mushrooms.

The important thing is that we continue to think for ourselves, and listen to our bodies, as we experiment from day to day with food and lifestyle, and learn new methods and theories from the experts.

May your holidays be great!

From A Really Bad Joke Book

My growing up is partly a blur, perhaps because it ended about 40 years ago, and partly because it was less than ideal. However, I am grateful.

I am also grateful for the memory of a joke book I once had. One of the (awful) jokes in the book was about the farmer with a hole in the roof of his barn. On one rainy afternoon, it was proposed by a farmhand that he fix it. The farmer suggested he wait until it stop raining, as it would be much easier. A couple of days later, it was sunny and dry, and the farmhand repeated his offer. The farmer, who was not so bright as it turns out, said it was no longer necessary, as the roof was not leaking anymore.

I bring this up because I have a client who has been very ill, and is just now making a limited recovery. I got the news from his wife, and I was thrilled, and offered to bring over some of my Healing Veg Tea for him. She declined, saying he wasn’t having a good day, and that she herself was ill. Of course, I took the hint and told her they would be in my thoughts.

Then I thought to myself, now, today is the time to have the drink, or my miso soup, or some Chem Defense and Reishi Mushroom extract. Folks, this stuff is not fun food, or a neat idea, it is M-E-D-I-C-I-N-E. Do not delay!!

Update on Pedro

A few months ago, I wrote about Pedro. I was praying he would sign on for my Healing Veg Tea, and to for cooking classes to learn how to heal his kidneys and pancreas.

Today, I can report that he is almost one month into the drink, and also making small dietary changes. Already, his doctor reports his numbers have improved, and his medication has been reduced!

Now, I’m hoping he will take larger steps:

  • Learn how to cook complete balanced, plant-based meals
  • Learn how to do proper bodycare, and improve lifestyle habits
  • Avoid toxins such as coffee, chewing gum, fish, etc.

Exciting that he is making positive changes–you can too!!

Carrot Daikon Drink

This drink is meant to help you improve your digestion, remove animal food, de-toxify your blood, and restore your appetite.

It is made from spring water, organic carrot, organic daikon radish, organic scallions (green onions), and tamari or soy sauce (let us know if you have an allergy to wheat, tamari is wheat-free).

$10 per pint delivered, a pint is two doses. We recommend you gently reheat and consume half a pint as an early breakfast, sitting, down, chewing very well. Then you have a full glass of clean water a half hour later, followed by light vegan meals the rest of the day.

You should experience better elimination by morning the next day. For stubborn cases, continue 2-3 days.
