My Friend Pedro…

I meet a lot of people in my job. Most have an issue, and as a result, cannot drive themselves. Others just see the value in our service, to remove stress from their life.

In Pedro’s case, he is healing from a kidney issue, and cannot drive right now. I really like Peter–he enjoys Boston sports as I do, has a passion for automobiles, and has lived an interesting life.

So I would do anything to help him heal, if I could, in addition to giving him good service as a driver. But I think he is not so open to it, if it involves changing his health and eating habits, and that is really the ONLY way to heal. So I may just keep to myself. It is hard to do that, and I have lost a few clients recently, but that is my work.

I will share with you what my suggestions might be. Maybe they will come back to him!

  1. First, I would stop eating animal foods for a while. There are many reasons, but first and foremost, these cause acid buildup, which is hard on the kidneys.
  2. Next, I would eat more foods to heal the liver and kidney. These include onions, scallions, parsley, mushrooms, sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, dandelion greens, etc.
  3. Adding well chewed brown rice, sea vegetables, miso, daikon radish, shiitake mushrooms and switching away from table salt, sugar, etc. will also help.
  4. Also avoiding coffee, tea, soda, fruit juice and alcohol for a while. I make a nice beverage called Sweet Veggie Tea.
  5. Finally, doing a daily body rub, and doing affirmations with gratefulness and a request for healing would be awesome.

After following those suggestions, and perhaps looking for other ways to improve, two months will bring about noticeable improvements, in mood, energy, biological functions, and even some weight gain.

Money In Conflict With Love

I have a wonderful client here in Metrowest who is right on the ball, and we have a great thing going. I should not mess with it!

But here I go…

He has a problem which could be healed with a natural diet and lifestyle in perhaps a few weeks. We all have issues from time to time, his may be a bit difficult, only because he’s older and it may be hard to break old habits. But I must say, he (and his wife) are fantastic, and if anyone can do it, they can.

The problem is a common one. It involves pain from Spinal Stenosis. I have had relatives with it, friends with it, clients with it, and nobody dies from it, yet it gets in the way of life. If only we were taught how to eat for health, and if only doctors realized that we want to HEAL, and be done worrying and spending time and money on healthcare, to only cover symptoms, keep us in the system, and shorten our lives.

Spinal Stenosis is basically osteoporosis, with some inflammation mixed in. This is probably just as rampant a diagnosis as diabetes these days, but again, it’s not deadly, but merely a symptom and a nuisance, particularly when you are unlucky enough to have a severe case in a place that causes a lot of pain.

So, what can we do to clear up osteoporosis and inflammation, in just a few weeks?

  1. Reduce inflammation by avoiding tropic fruits, plus eggplant, pepper, tomato, potato, asparagus, spinach (these are nightshades, especially raw, and in the winter), red meat, poultry, egg yolks, dairy, coffee, corn, nuts, sugar and white flour.
  2. Cut out non-essential medications. They damage the liver, are acid-forming, and require copious water that we sometimes forget.
  3. Add in boiled brown rice, millet, barley, quinoa, oats, etc. Don’t forget to rinse and soak properly, and cook with sea salt or kombu (Whole Foods people!) FYI brown rice may have some arsenic, so rinse well.
  4. Do a daily body rub, add more green plants in your home, take daily nature walks, and try acupuncture, chiropractic, reflexology, shiatsu, and ginger compresses. If you can, some vigorous exercise like push ups, boxing, hiking, etc. can be helpful.
  5. Try warm lemon water in the morning, David’s Sweet Veggie Tea in between lunch and dinner, and miso soup with dinner. Only drink filtered or spring water, and kukicha (aka twig) tea aside from that.
  6. Also add these superfoods: Shiitake mushrooms, umeboshi plums, kuzu (aka kudzu), azuki beans, and replace canola or soybean oil with sesame or olive oil, and table salt with sea salt.

Personally, I would rather try something natural, because whatever the doctor suggests:

A. May not work

B. May cause side effects or interactions

C. May cost a lot of money, or time (don’t forget transportation!)

D. Does not address the cause, which means it will create more problems

People Are Dropping Like Flies. Here’s Why…

I lost a friend on January 3 who had been battling cancer. I have been dwelling on him a lot. It’s sad for his 13 year old son, and many friends and family.

The doctors said he had one to two years left as recently as October. He was a really good dad, a good friend, a devout Christian, and a great musician. His memorial was very uplifting and informative.

But it kept coming up how much he loved steak, chocolate, and butter. I noticed it the first time I met him, albeit at Honey Dew, but he ordered a chocolate glazed donut, and a chocolate milk. Unfortunately, his habit led to esophageal and stomach cancer. Chemotherapy did not help him.

People are dying all over. And many of them are going way too early. 61, 45, 70, 58, this is not what we sign up for when we work so hard, and pay so much to sacrifice for our future and retirement. Why are so many of us dying so young?

The reasons are many, but here are the top 10, starting with the most unfortunate, significant or evil:

Top 10 Reasons Americans Are Dying Young

  1. Pesticides. Monsanto has put Glyphosate in EVERYTHING. It’s in bread, meat, produce, breakfast cereal, and on our lawns. It causes CANCER!
  2. We eat too much. We don’t give our bodies a chance to detox. Research shows we should compress our eating into a 12 hours, and sometimes eat just two meals per day.
  3. Too much sugar and animal foods. Sugar, beef, pork, lamb, poultry, seafood, eggs, cheese, cream and milk are yummy, but so dangerous to us, to animals and to the environment. They are filled with antibiotics, hormones, pesticides, salt, preservatives, colors and bacteria and cause many diseases. Go organic, reduce portions, and say a prayer for the animal. And don’t order more than you will eat!
  4. Media overload! We are constantly on our phone, computer, in front of our TV, flying, having medical tests, using our microwaves, and exposed to so many other sources of radiation from networks to speed traps on the highway. All of these cause cancer and disrupt our DNA, endocrine and neurological systems. They also can distort our reality.
  5. We don’t sleep enough. Sleep is when our bodies clean out the bad. The prevailing theory of Alzheimer’s is that people who don’t sleep well, tend to be at extremely high risk for that and similar ailments. Go to sleep by 11pm, wake up by 7am, and take a nap if you need one!
  6. We miss nature. We don’t walk in the woods, keep green plants, and get enough sunlight, exercise and clean air in our homes and workplaces. Go outside right now!!
  7. Dirty Water. The water we drink is often filled with chlorine, fluoride, pesticides and prescription drugs, not to mention many different types of bacteria. We also don’t drink enough water. We love our other beverages! We are also bombarded by chlorine gas in the water we use to shower. Get a filter!!
  8. Violence and Stress. We work too much, and expose ourselves to too much violence and stress, in movies, games, the news, and in our relationships. Switch to classical music, shut off the news, and stop arguing. Love people like it’s the last time you will ever see them.
  9. Pick your poison. We introduce toxins to our bodies like smoke, alcohol and drugs, medications, hair and nail colors, anti-perspirants, fumes from lawn mowers and snow throwers, jets, cleaning products and paints. Find healthier options, and go natural!
  10. Drugs & Surgery. Cancer means you are not living a sustainable life. Be willing to grow, forgive, change jobs, and slow down. Doctors will kill you for money. Cure yourself!

Someone With Cancer In Your Life

I have about 15 clients with cancer in their family. Cancer is rampant now, compared with 30 years ago. It’s sad and disgraceful that it did not have to be this way, if not for greedy corporations, poorly run and corrupt government, and laziness.

I am first and foremost chanting for these people every day. This works…to a point.

But I want to help them bring more nature into their lives, which would really help. Unfortunately, their doctors are often not only ignorant, but against this idea. Think about it, if you were an oncologist, and  stood to make $2,500 per month from chemo via port for a patient, would you want to jeopardize that income by suggesting they change to a vegan diet, or get acupuncture and quit their job?

You should know that 80% of oncologists would refuse chemotherapy if they had cancer. That is because they know it doesn’t work for most people, and it kills many people.

If you need answers, and have listened to a doctor for too long, get in touch with me today. I have some suggestions, and can give really good advice, once I know your situation. Let me help!

All my best,

David

P.S. Here are three ideas for everyone with cancer:

  1. Make and eat miso soup at least three times per week
  2. Take a walk in the woods every morning for healing and mood
  3. Eliminate all dairy, chicken, and beverages other than water, sweet veggie drink and twig tea

Summer Was Fun, But the Bill Has Come Due

Vegan Tee

Good for the body and the Earth!

Heck, it was a fun summer, but…

September is the month of reckoning for me. Here is a list of fun foods I’ve consumed in the past three months, sometimes more than once, and it simply needs to come out:

Caffeine, chocolate, ice cream, brownies, cookies, almond milk etc.–too much DD & beach food!

White flour, poor quality oil, chemicals and pesticides from bread, crackers, chips–mostly at night!!

Fruit juice, alcohol, tropical foods and candy–so what if my daughter works at Lolly & Pops?!!

Animal foods such as cheese, shellfish, tuna, even turkey–no barbecues, but still summer damage!!!!

Compounding the damage is a lack of sleep that only a driver can understand. I might average six hours of sleep, but it can be three one night, and nine the next. Once my last ride got me home by 1am, and I needed to leave by 3:15am…not good!!

Living hard and playing hard is fun, but I don’t have the constitution for that. I am weaker than most because my mom smoked two packs a day, and ate total crap, then I came along and continued the trend of bad eating, and stress due to poor habits, violence, divorce etc. Learn more about constitution here.

So I have less tolerance for poor habits now, and have a laundry list of about 20 symptoms, from heart palpitations to wrinkles, to thinning and grey hair, to toenail fungus and liver spots, to mood swings, to fatigue, to muscle cramps, backaches and headaches, to poor elimination and blurry vision. Not good for a driver!!

Rice Miso soup

Yummy and good for you!

So what am I doing about all this? A lot, and in a hurry!

First, I am 100% vegan until further notice. Second, I’m having regular meals, usually two per day, at noon and 6pm, with plenty of boiled whole grains (such as short or long grain brown rice, millet, barley or quinoa), well-cooked organic sea and land vegetables, home-cooked beans.

I know how to do it so they don’t cause gas and bloating), a small amount of superfoods, such as umeboshi plums, shiitake mushrooms, daikon radish, sesame seeds, and sauerkraut, and plenty of clean water.

Of course, I chew my meals well, and I don’t overeat–that is my biggest sin normally!

I’m also sleeping by 10pm, sometimes earlier, and rising by 6:30am, to take a walk in the woods. This is good for the lungs, which are especially bothering me. Too much sugar and chips and cold foods and smoke and dairy.

I have been to acupuncture, and I plan on seeing the chiropractor as well. Once every six weeks is recommended. I also do ginger compresses and poultices for my lungs and liver, consisting of taro root, ginger root, and sometimes lotus root, ground up and mixed with whole wheat flour. Messy, and itchy, but very effective at pulling out toxins.

Finally, I do two body rubs per day, and often two showers per day. I do affirmations as well, and stretching and try not to use too much technology.

My cleanse has gone about a week, and I’m doing quite well. I literally feel 50% better. My wife says my eyes are brighter. I know that my energy, libido and mood have improved a lot. I hope to keep this up until my birthday in mid December, with a couple of cheating meals. Once I feel better, I can do my job better, help others, and have an easier time in my day to day life.

Natural Solutions to Nagging Back Problems

Summer is here! Sadly, most of us must work to finance vacations and monthly expenses.

With work, comes stress. Add to it the ever-increasing political, social and environmental struggles.

To reduce our stress, we turn to comfort foods. For some, it’s fruit juice, alcohol, coffee drinks, ice cream, chocolate or candy. For others it’s pizza, or chips, or fried chicken. These foods are devastating to our health, our teeth, liver, kidneys, pancreas, eyes, brain and nervous system, and our joints. But they also cause us to be out of balance, and crave extreme foods.

Chips and meat require a stiff drink, and perhaps dessert. Because we count on our back for so much, don’t take care of it, and ignore warning signs, it’s kaboom—we are down for the count. Then comes doctors, pills, shots and possibly surgery, plus lost time, worrying and copays. All avoidable!

Here are some helpful tips to improve your back health, without drugs, doctors or surgery.

Top 10 Natural Backcare Tips

  1. Take a :15 nature walk every morning and every night, preferably in the woods. Bonus points if you can lie down for a minute or two and really relax!
  2. Take frequent breaks from sitting at the office and in the car. Stretch, rub, stand, walk, and improve your ergonomics or get a back support for your chair. Avoid lifting heavy weights, especially on stairs or above your head. Get a stool, a lifting belt, and a tool to reach your socks behind the dresser.
  3. Drink more water during the day, especially when you wake up, and before and after meals. Please do not drink anything during meals. This makes digestion more difficult.
  4. Develop a daily ritual of exercises and stretching, to be done sometime at least a couple of hours after rising, so you will not pull any muscles. Safe situps, pushups, and yoga or tai chi will get you more bonus points!
  5. Avoid tobacco, sugar and corn syrup, caffeine beyond one cup of tea or cold brew coffee, and table salt. For bonus points, also avoid burned meats (especially in summer!), chips, salty and dried foods, and nightshade veggies (potato, tomato, eggplant, pepper is hard on the body, especially raw, and especially in winter). Also avoid pesticides and overeating.
  6. Get occasional chiropractic or physical therapy, or a massage. Couples massage is great!
  7. Eat more boiled brown rice, millet, barley, quinoa and corn. Grains offer balance, great nutritional support, improve digestion, and help the body eliminate toxins and heal. Well chewed whole grains add water to our cells, and fight cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and much more. They also have a low glycemic index, versus white pasta, bread etc.
  8. Add superfoods to your diet, like miso, ume plums, radishes, mushrooms, sesame seeds, sea vegetables, and a few supplements like turmeric, green tea and dandelion.
  9. Break out of your tightness, once you feel like you are safe and ready. Physically, mentally and spiritually, try new things and be flexible, and your body will back you up!
  10. Doctors and pills and surgeries are expensive, risky and can come with side effects. If they work, it’s often only a patch. Why not fix the problem with better diet and lifestyle habits?

You’re not getting older, you’re getting better! Now do the work to keep your body fit, and you will thank me later.

Enjoy!!
