2021…Time for Healing

2020 was a rough year, and 2021 does not look like much of a reprieve. Looks like the cure may be worse than the disease!

For me, more stress and free time has led to some poor dietary choices. Maybe I didn’t gain 15 pounds, but my weak organs (lung, liver, etc.) need some healing. So here I go…

I am committed to avoiding these foods until the Chinese New Year, on February 12.

Healing
Healthy can taste good!

Ten Poisons to Avoid For Now

1. Smoke

2. Almonds and other nuts

3. Alcohol (not beer), Soda and Coffee

4. Chips and other hard foods

5. Egg

6. Cheese

7. Animal Flesh

8. Candy

9. Night Shade Vegetables & Tropical Fruits

10. White Flour & Yeast

If I am successful in healing, I will live longer, feel better, look younger, and be more productive. Worth the sacrifice!

Healing
Two staples in my diet

In addition, to support my healing, I commit to these helpful activities:

Weekly compresses and lotus root plasters; Chiropractic etc.; Daily nature walks in the woods; More meditation; Less media

Less Stress In 2021

We can probably say that 2020 was up there as one of the most stressful years in our lives, if not the most. But mercifully it is finally over!

Now it may be time to make some adjustments to lose the stress, and possibly the weight from all those glasses of wine and cookies. I want to assist you in that!

David’s Organic Top 10 List of Diet & Lifestyle Adjustments For 2021

  1. Resolve to watch less news, and have less screen time overall
  2. Remember the most satisfying and healthy meals you cooked and repeat
  3. Do a daily body rub (hot water, facecloth, in a sink) before showering
  4. Avoid dairy. Start with cheese and milk (there are great substitutes)
  5. Avoid beef and pork (the Earth and your body cannot tolerate it)
  6. Eat more brown rice, but CHEW IT WELL
  7. Don’t forget other grains like barley, millet, oats, quinoa, buckwheat, etc.
  8. Get superfoods like shiitake mushrooms, Ume plums, miso etc. in the mix
  9. Take a daily nature walk, and try to lie down if you can
  10. Be grateful for what you have, and who you have in your life

Chanting For Willpower

If you saw how I much I have seesawed back and forth with health, you would laugh. Maybe you are the same way.

Bottom line is:

  • I LOVE food
  • I eat with abandon when I’m up, or when I’m down
  • I’m up or down a lot

I have been chanting every morning for the past nine years. It is a habit that has been extremely rewarding. It helps me be grateful, pray for my own health and productivity, as well as for others who need it. It works!

Recently I heard of a chant for willpower. I am in the process of memorizing it (my actress daughter could do it in a day or two, but for me it takes a month or two!), but I can see it is already working, as I do it most every day. Here it is…

FUDOSON-JIKU no JU

NO MAKU SNA MAN DA BA ZARA DAN

SEN DA MA KARO SHA DA

SOWA TAYA UN TARA TA KAN MAN.

This Might Heal You

There are many different ailments, but most of them are caused by stress on the body over a long period of time, through poor eating and lifestyle.

Mexican rice, kale and Dicon, raw veg and pickle

Positive changes can include a new outlook, or oxygen, new people in your life, less work, more sleep, or better food.Nature has a way of healing us. If we stick with it and accept that we caused our difficulties.

This is a vast difference from the way doctors handle our cases, and that is why we typically get worse and eventually succumb to our ailments, after spending much time, what much worry, and the doctors, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies getting very wealthy.

What will your choice be when you get sick? And once the doctor gives up on you, will you go home to die, or give nature a try?

Best Fake Cheese

Cheese is horrible for our health. It is also a stain on the environment, and our terrible treatment of cows and their babies.

Unfortunately, it is addictive, the dairy lobby is powerful, and many people continue to eat it. Shame on them, and shame on us!

Now, there are many good substitutes, and even smart restaurants are getting into the action.

Please go to Whole Foods and look for these foods:

  • 365
  • Violife
  • Miyoko’s
  • GoVeg
  • Follow Your Heart

It’s important to read the ingredients, to make sure the sodium is not through the roof (I try to stay below 125mg per serving), and the list is not too long and scary.

With factory farms producing most of the milk and cheese in our country, and virtually all of it for fast food companies and restaurants, we need to demand vegan substitutes. These will lead to fewer viruses, more response to antibiotics when needed, cancer and heart disease etc. will go down, our air and water and soil will be cleaner, and the animals will suffer less, leading to less violence and accidents.

Fight Bayer (Monsanto)!

Bayer (owns Monsanto) is not your friend.

Bayer is a huge company that manufactures pesticides that are used to grow most American crops. They patented their seeds, and are making it hard for people to live naturally.

Not only does pesticides kill thousands each year, but Bayer is trying to put the organic farmer out of business.

GMO foods are also destroying nature, and wreaking havoc with our health, as well as with animals on the planet. Many countries have banned GMO foods.

They also own Nutrasweet, which hurts many people.

Off the Wagon? Habits Matter!

Get back on! Every day is a new day. No need to beat yourself up, this world has never been as crazy as it is now. But you deserve to have a long, happy, productive life, and that means you need good health habits:

  1. Go to sleep by 11p, wind down before, so no media after 9p, no food after 7:30p. Be grateful! Saturday night can be an exception. Arise before 7a.
  2. Gentle stretches, plan your day, take a nature walk, and your vitamins with a glass of clean water. If you shower, do a body rub first.
  3. If you are a breakfast person, this is the most important meal of the day, so make it healthy. Whole grain, vegan, low sugar, low salt, and low caffeine are best. My Twig tea with lemon and ginger is awesome!
  4. Midway through the workday, you need to check in with your back, your mood, and your blood sugar. My Healing Veg Tea is great around 3pm
  5. Consider a nice walk before dinner, to get your appetite up. Then go plant based, with miso or Shoyu (prevent Covid!) soup, beans, steamed vegetables, and boiled rice, millet, barley, etc. Watch out for steak and potatoes, that only keeps you fat, dumb, destroys our planet and peace.

Good luck, and let me know if I can help you with your habits.
