Late Summer Eating Ideas

Okay, so you’ve been eating a bit better than the Standard American Diet, but still overeating, and indulging in such foods as frozen yogurt, chocolate, fruit juices, raw salads, etc. during the summer, in order to have fun and keep cool. That’s okay.

But now it’s late summer, and we need to shift our eating for the cooler weather. Time to dial down the raw salads, fruit and fruit juice (other than cooked and dried fruits), and especially the cold foods. More sea vegetables (dry Arama aka sea palm, it’s very good this time of year–email me or comment here for a recipe!), millet and well cooked land vegetables are in order, such as onions, sweet potato, squash, cauliflower and kale.

This will get you ready for fall, without too many colds and flu, etc., and nurture your spleen and pancreas, preventing issues with menstruation and diabetes.
