More Yin For Summer

Yin and yang are the universe’s guiding forces, known well in Asia but unfamiliar to most of us. Summer is time for more yin (expansion), relaxation, upward growth and fun! Support comes from salad, beans, long grain brown rice and quick-cooked or raw foods. Avoid BBQ, cheese, salt.

    • Have you ever cooked brown rice with red lentils in it? It’s fantastic, and provides more protein and other nutrients, while retaining balance. Try 1/2 cup brown rice and 2 TBLS red lentils, and 1.25 cups spring water with a pinch of sea salt or piece of kombu, and boil ~:40. Soak first if it’s short grain.
